Welcome to the ACT Branch

Welcome to the AIP's ACT branch website.

The Australian Institute of Physics (AIP) is the professional organisation concerned with the promotion of physics and the welfare of physicists in Australia. It has branches in every State and a National Secretariat located in Melbourne. The Australian Institute of Physics aims to promote all aspects of physics to the wider community and to provide support to physicists and physics teachers.

ACT Branch activities include:

  • monthly meetings at which invited speakers talk about the latest advances in physics
  • providing sponsorship for student members to attend approved conferences
  • taking an active role on issues in physics and science education
