Welcome to Physics at the Australian National University

The ANU is unusual in that it has both undergraduate teaching faculties (which also offer a Postgraduate Program) and the Institute of Advanced Studies, which is essentially a large research only organisation offering Postgraduate degrees such as PhD and MSc and some Honours places. It is possible to do a PhD at either or indeed both, many students have joint projects between the Institute and the Faculties. Physically, the two are located on the same campus in Canberra, Australia, and it takes about ten minutes to walk between them.
