This is the Metal Organic Chemical Vapour Deposition (MOCVD) lab. An MOCVD reactor deposits atomically thin layers of semiconductor onto the surface of wafers to build up devices such as quantum well lasers and detectors. The School has two fully operational reactors that are heavily used in photonics, lasers and optoelectronic devices research. You can find out more about MOCVD at the ANU, here
